About Us
The Harvard Undergraduate Association of Ghanaian Students is concerned with creating a close undergraduate community of Ghanaian students through the coordination of events and conversation that allows all members to feel valued, included, and empowered to succeed with the support of one another. Our organization was founded in the summer of 2022 when five students from Twi AB (Benista Owusu-Amo, Emma Mensah, Maame Forson, Verda Annan, and Yvonne Burke) came together to form what is now known as HUAGS. In our first year of operation, we hope to meet on a consistent basis, document all meetings/finances, plan at least two events per month, and ultimately connect all undergraduate Ghanaian-identifying students. We plan to host a Ghanaian Independence Day celebration annually. As we embark on this process, we hope to expand to include graduate students, more board positions, and outreach into the Cambridge community and beyond.
