Harvard Undergraduate Blockchain Hosts “Blockchain in Action” Conference, Showcasing Real-World Innovation and Next-Gen Builders
Cambridge, MA — 04/25/25 — This weekend, the future of decentralized technology was on full display at the 2025 Harvard Blockchain Conference, the premier blockchain and AI conference hosted by the Harvard Undergraduate Blockchain Club (HUB) that brought together over 350 students, developers, and industry leaders from more than 40 universities to explore the real-world applications of blockchain technology.
The event featured keynote speeches, panels, and startup showcases focused on real-world applications of blockchain technology, from DeFi and infrastructure to agentic AI and stablecoins. Startups pitched their innovations to investors, while industry experts unpacked what’s next for tokenization, decentralized infrastructure, and on-chain finance. During the lightning pitch competition, emerging founders and student teams from AgentBall, Remora, Sparsity, and Prinx delivered rapid-fire presentations on bold new ideas.
The weekend also included a $100,000 hackathon co-hosted by EasyA, drawing top student builders and developers to prototype bold new blockchain solutions. Winning teams tackled everything from cross-chain liquidity to real-world asset tokenization and climate-linked DeFi products.
The energy culminated in a closing award ceremony, celebrating standout projects, community contributions, and the next generation of Web3 builders. The Harvard Undergraduate Blockchain Club (HUB) presented Justin Sun, Founder of TRON, with the "Best Blockchain Innovator Award” for TRON's leading position in the blockchain space. AION was awarded the "Best Blockchain Impact Award" for its trailblazing efforts in the space. From the lightning pitches, TRON sponsored the "Student Excellence Award" and awarded it to Remora for their next-generation real-estate tokenization platform and their beta launch.
The conference was made possible by generous support from leading sponsors, including TRON, AION, Pond, Solana Foundation, and Remora. Anika Lakhani '25, president of HUB, and Antonia Kolb '28, vice president and incoming president, organized the conference along with Finn Peters '28, Pierce Cousins '25, and other members of HUB and the greater Boston blockchain community. Their commitment to innovation helped create a space where builders and leaders could connect and collaborate on the next wave of blockchain-powered change.
From panels on institutional adoption to workshops on building scalable smart contracts, Blockchain in Action made one thing clear: the future of blockchain isn’t hypothetical — it’s happening now.
