The Harvard Undergraduate Association is pleased to announce the timeline and guidelines for the upcoming Spring Elections.
The Spring Elections will decide the new HUA officers for the upcoming 2025-2026 academic year. The following positions will be on the ballot:
- Co-Presidents
- Co-Treasurers
- Social Life Team Officer
- Extracurriculars Team Officer
- Academic Team Officer
- Residential Life Team Officer
- Inclusion Team Officer
- Well-Being Team Officer
- Sports Team Officer
The candidates for Co-Presidents will run as a joint ticket, while all other positions will have single candidates. In the case of the Co-Treasurers, the two candidates who receive the most votes will be the winners.
HUA Spring Elections use rank-choice voting to determine the winners of the races. Students who are interested in running for a HUA Officer position can declare their candidacy using this form.
In addition to voting for HUA officers, students will have the opportunity to vote for changes to HUA policies and procedures through referendum and share there their thoughts on a variety of matters through the survey.
Student organizations recognized by the College will have the opportunity to submit survey questions to receive feedback from their peers. Students and student organizations interested in submissing referenda and survey questions should email the Election Commission at electioncommission@thehua.org to begin the process.
Here are the key dates & deadlines for the HUA Spring Election:
- Officer Q&A / Campaign Office Hours - March 30 after the HUA General Meeting (5:45 to 6:30pm, Smith Center 2nd Floor Mount Auburn Room)
- Candidate declaration, Referendum submission, and Survey submission deadline - March 25, 2025 at 11:59pm
- Mandatory rules session on Thursday, March 27th at 6 PM in Sever Hall 103
- Campaign blurbs sent out to student body on morning of Friday, March 28, 2025
- Campaign Period Opens: Monday, March 31, 2025
- Voting Opens: 12:00 AM Wednesday, April 2, 2025
- Voting Closes: 10:00 AM, Friday, April 4, 2025
