Club Sport Athlete Assistance Funding Program

  • Athlete Assistance Funding (AAF)

In partnership with the Harvard College Griffin Financial Aid Office, the Club Sports Office (CSO) offers financial assistance with club dues for eligible participants. Students' eligibility is determined based on demonstrated financial need, as assessed by the Griffin Financial Aid Office. For those who qualify, the CSO may cover a portion of individual club dues. This program is designed to support students who might otherwise be unable to participate in club sports due to financial constraints.

For general inquiries regarding this opportunity, please contact the CSO: Athletics_CSO@fas.harvard.edu.

  • How to Apply (For Athletes)

Individual club members applying for aid must complete the following steps:

    • Verify Club Eligibility: Ask your club officers if your organization has opted into the AAF program for the current academic year.
    • Await Notice: The CSO will verify your financial need with the Financial Aid Office and notify you of your status and next steps.
  • AAF Officer Responsibilities

To ensure eligible members receive funding, club student officers must fulfill two mandatory requirements:

    • Opt-In via Annual Registration: Officers must opt their organization into the program and certify their dues amount on the Annual Registration Form. Athletes cannot receive funding if their club has not opted in advance.
    • Process Dues via Term Bill: Participating clubs are required to handle all dues through term billing, managed by the CSO.
      • Submit all term bill details by October 31st.
        • The Term Bill submission form can be found on SOCO.
      • The CSO will confidentially adjust AAF-approved students within the final billing list.
      • Covered dues and collected payments will be deposited directly into the club's Gift Account.
