About the Harvard Black Playwrights Festival
BlackCAST is a Harvard student-run organization whose primary purpose is to stimulate interest & support for Black theater on campus.
The goal of the HBPF is to celebrate the work being done by black Harvard students to push the boundaries of student theater inside and outside of institutional spaces. The festival is also meant to connect this work to the broader community of black theater professionals in Boston, New York, and beyond. We believe that black theater is necessary and powerful and we want to create a space to showcase student work, celebrate black theater professionals, and cultivate relationships across the community.
