About Us

CityStep is a team of Harvard undergraduates who all share a passion for the arts, community service, and youth empowerment. Harvard CityStep was the first branch of what is now a growing 501(c)3 not-for-profit. For going on 39 years, Harvard CityStep has strove to be a partner to the Cambridge Public Schools, offering a free arts education to students in the 5th, 6th, and 7th grade. Throughout every CityStep year, our students (aka CitySteppers!) explore dance, theater, music, and more to develop both performance and personal skills! Traditionally, this culminates in an end-of-year show! CityStep is open to the entire Cambridge community, the end-of-year performance brings together all CitySteppers within our program to showcase the work our students do year-round: collaborative art making, thoughtful engagement of real-world themes, and individual expression!
