About Us

The Harvard Undergraduate Robotics Club (HURC) seeks to provide Harvard Undergraduates with an opportunity to participate in exciting and educational STEM-related projects, to engage students in machine-building processes, and to compete in a variety of robotics competitions. HURC seeks to encourage its members to always strive to create efficient and meaningful robots. Meetings will consist of robot and machine-building work sessions, programming work sessions, and engineering design discussions. HURC encourages its members to strive to create efficient and successful robots. HURC members will form teams and build robots in an effort to develop innovative solutions to problems. Meetings will consist of machine building, circuitry, and programming work sessions and, engineering design discussions.

Members Benefits

1. Membership in this organization shall be open to all students in good standing currently enrolled in Harvard College, regardless of race, creed, color, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or physical disability. 2. HURC has a non-hazing policy for all members in accordance with college rules. Membership is not limited to students of Harvard College, but Harvard undergraduates must make up a majority of the organization. 3. Membership shall be retained until the student severs relations with Harvard University. 4. Membership will be retained during the vacation and recesses of the university. 5. Membership is open to students of Harvard University at no cost. Members, however, are expected to pay tournament fees, team fees, or other fees related to robot-building. 6. If a member wishes to withdraw from the club, that member needs to formally resign by informing his/her team leader, who will in turn inform the rest of the board members. 7. Members of the outside community are welcome to participate in activities and programs. 8. Members are expected to respect each other. 9. Members are expected to inform their team leaders if they cannot attend a scheduled meeting. Members should remain in constant communication with their team and project manager throughout the semester. Constant communication is defined as responding to all communications within 24 hours, unless an appropriate excuse is provided as determined by the project manager. All exceptions shall be handled at the discretion of the project manager. Should a majority of the Board choose to terminate the membership of any member, he/she will lose all HURC membership privileges for the current term. The board also reserves the right to review and/or terminate the membership of any member who is consistently inactive or hinders the progress of his/her team.
