Gaines herself began by mentioning the Foundation of Individual Rights and Expression’s recent free speech rankings, which listed Harvard dead last. She also reminded the audience of the meaning of the school’s motto, “Veritas,” which Gaines translated as both “truth” and “reality”.

Riley Gaines, former NCAA swimmer, is scheduled to speak at Harvard University on Thursday 26 October. She will talk about fairness and integrity in women’s sports and her experience competing against trans-identifying athlete Lia Thomas, the first man to win a Division I national championship in a women’s sport by self-declaring his female gender identity.
