About Us

Founded in 2019, the Harvard Undergraduate Black Pre-medical Society has strived to support Black students who have been historically underrepresented in the healthcare field. Given that only 5.7% of healthcare professionals in the United States are Black, many systemic barriers exclude disadvantaged populations from pursuing medical careers. This can have detrimental effects on our communities’ health, particularly for minority patients. HUBPS serves to create a space for mentorship, providing resources, and educating on healthcare disparities. Through our various programs and nurturing an inclusive environment, we aim to break down the barriers for Black pre-medical students.
