About Us

The mission of Omo Naija x The Wahala Boys is to educate the members of the greater Harvard community through dance and its role in the culture of the Afro-Caribbean. While dance is not generally imagined when one imagines education, the arts have historically served as some of the best cultural and educational tools available. While Omo Naija is close-knit, it is also a space for members of the African Diaspora across campus to find cultural roots, and to take part in the making and spreading of something amazing. Many on this campus know very little about Afro-Caribbean dance and culture and thus while we love that this organization is a fun way to express ourselves, it also serves as a community with which the Harvard community can engage, participate, and learn.
